The Stats And Tip - Danny Garcia Vs Mauricio Herrera

Danny Garcia (27(16)-0(0)-0) - Height 5'8.5'' - Reach 68.5'' - 25 years old - USA
Mauricio Herrera (20(7)-3(0)-0) - Height 5'10'' - Reach 71.5'' - 33 years old - USA

Danny Garcia r7-12 ... £5 ... 4/1

Danny Garcia's fifth world title defence is against Mauricio Herrera this Saturday night, taking place in Garcia's hereditary homeland of Puerto Rico.

Garcia has shown in the last couple of years that he is a class act: great timing, accurate and a solid chin. He has only won two of his last five fights by ko but he put down Morales, Judah and Matthysse late into winning each respective bout by decision.

Herrera is a very competent contender but not a world level fighter. His two most recent defeats were in 2012 and came against Mike Alvarado and Karim Mayfield. Herrera may have a height and reach advantage over Garcia but the double light welterweight champ has easily overcome these things before.

Many of Garcia's kos have come early in the fight but that is often because his opponent were significantly inferior. It is 4/1 that Garcia finishes the bout in rounds 7-12 which I think represents a good opportunity for a small bet.

Garcia is not a particularly fast starter but with the crowd behind him the referee might be inclined to stop the fight if Garcia dishes out his normal late knock down.
